(1) The combination of the link connection (the transmission medium) and two link stations, one at each end of the link connection. A link can be shared among multiple links in a multipoint or token-ring configuration.
(2) To interconnect items of data or portions of one or more computer programs; for example, linking object programs by a linkage editor to produce an executable file.
